Conferences

The World Congress of Social Economics is an international conference organized and sponsored by the Association for Social Economics approximately every third year, often in conjunction with a Summer School in Social Economics for graduate students.

ASE organizes seven paper sessions, a plenary, and a breakfast at the Allied Social Science Association meetings each January.  The opening plenary session and reception is held on the evening before the first day of the ASSA conference. The annual Membership Meeting of ASE is held on a later afternoon of the conference.  At the Presidential Breakfast, announcements are made of awards and grants, and the outgoing president gives an address.

The Summer School, which takes place approximately every three years, provides an opportunity for graduate students to enrich their understanding of social economics. It is often held in conjunction with the World Congress.

The Regional Directors of ASE organize sessions at various regional and international conferences.  Some of these are annual events.  These have included, in recent years, the annual conferences of the Eastern Economic Association, the Midwest Economic Association, and the  European Association for Political and Evolutionary Economy. When we have information on these meetings, the Calls for Papers and other information will be made available in this area of the web site.
